All of our interviews have been tough to get, but this one probably means more to me than any of them. As I have followed Torrie’s Career since her WCW debut (as Samantha) in 1999.
Torrie spent most of her days in WCW (World Championship Wrestling, now owned by WWE) as a valet/manager. She then signed with WWE several months after her release.
Currently WWE is aiming for the kids, but during Torrie’s time with the company it was all about the male viewers. Which meant she had to participate in bikini contest, lingerie contest and she even won WWE’s first ever Golden Thong award compitetition held at The World in New York City. Despite the TV-14 rating that WWE programming had, that didn’t stop them from allowing kids into the events. Which Torrie wasn’t to comfortable with. “There may be a few times that I wore a much too revealing bikini in front of kids in the audience. Looking back at it now I wish I would have covered that tush a little more” She tells us in an interview.
She even had to kiss some of the WWE Divas like Dawn Marie, Sable and Candice Michelle. Her kiss with Dawn Marie was the first and to date the best diva/diva kiss we have seen. The crowd went nuts! So, we asked her about her thoughts on the crowd reaction and the kiss. “I don't remember the crowds reaction, but it (the kiss) was extremely uncomfortable.” She says. She also told us that she’s never kissed a girl before WWE and admitted to never kissing any of the divas out of storylines. We asked her if she had another storyline either in TNA or WWE having to kiss a Knockout or Diva who she would chose and to our disappointment she answered “No more diva kisses for me. I will let those moments linger in our memories.”
Several fans sent us questions to ask her and she was more than happy to answer them:
What was your favorite moment in your WWE career?
Torrie Wilson: “ I could never define just one moment. There are way too many”
According to reports you left due to an “injury” is that true?
TW: “Yes, I began treatment for my back in Nov. 07 and improvements were not happening. I finally got surgery in June to replace a collapsed disc.”
Would you ever return to WWE or even appear in TNA in some capacity?
TW: “I guess you can never say never but right now I am really happy not traveling every week and expanding my clothing line and store.”
What was the best gift you ever received from a fan?
TW: “Lots of great stuff but the best ones are where people made things for me. I got this big scrapbook once with clippings from magazines and stuff that I did. That was cool because I never really collected stuff I was in and it will be great to show my kids someday.”
What was the craziest fan encounter you have ever encountered?
TW: “At a playboy magazine signing a man was pleasuring himself from afar while staring at me...yikes!”
Who do you stay in touch with from WWE?
TW: “Michelle McCool, Victioria, Carlito, Stacy Keibler. Gail Kim. Shelton shops in my store and so does Sharmell.”
What diva do you wish you could have feuded with past or present?
TW: “A great storyline would have been great with Victoria. She was so much fun to have matches with. I also would have loved to be in a tag team with Michelle McCool”
If you were still in WWE which title would mean more to you the Women’s title or the new Diva Championship? Why?
TW: “Women's Title, only because it's been around for so long and the new one wasn't even around untill after I was gone.”
What are your plans for the future?
TW: “I am focusing on my clothing store in The Woodlands, TX. I am moving into a larger store in a month and we are expanding our t-shirt line also. i also have plans to open more stores in the next few years and am also pursuing some other options in the entertainment industry.
Anything you’d like to say to the readers/fans?
TW: “The fans have made my time in wrestling so much fun and have really kept my spirits high through all of the back problems I have been having. Reading a kind comment by a sweet fan on my myspace page myspace.com/torries_space always makes me smile and I hope that you all know how much I genuinely love and appreciate you”
