It may have a catchy beat, but many girls have felt that this song was alittle more than offensive. The following lyrics are what most girls have found offensive

"Not what good girls do, not how they should behave" I can see why many people find this to be offensive. Those words could have been replaced with "it's not what I usually do. Not how I usually behave...." To me that makes more sence because the song is about a girl not other people.

Society wants us to think that lesbians and bisexuals are confused and you are a "bad girl" if you kiss another girl. Well their not. That's probably why Katy sang that part. She probably knew that the song wasn't going to be accepted by the media if she didn't give them what they wanted to hear.

"Not what good girls do." What is a good girl anyway? Who defines what a good girl is? It's a matter of opinion. Example Our very own Sarah has a girlfriend and if you met her you would say she is a great girl, has her head on straight, knows what she wants, very smart, educated and strong. Now just because she is a lesbian and kisses girls does that make her a bad girl? No, she is a great person and we shouldn't let actions define who people are.

The song has over 4 million plays on myspace! it is a big hit, but that doesn't mean people like it. Ofcourse Katy could careless aslong as she makes money.

The song goes on to say that she's holding an alchohlic beverage in her hand and she's using a girl for expeiriemental purposes. Which is your average sterotype. So, what can we gather from all this? According to the song, girls who kiss girls are bad and confused and only kiss each other if their drunk. It may have a nice beat and some great lyrics, but these lyrics have rubbed several people the wrong way.
